Heavily inspired by the greats of the bebop era, Joe strives to establish his own identity within the jazz idiom. Having a plethora of experience of performing in all kinds of jazz ensembles, Joe is a versatile multi-instrumentalist and has played lead alto (as well as tenor) with big bands including the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, with whom he has has performed a huge array of different music including the music of Count Basie and Hermeto Pascoal at some of London's premier music venues such as Pizza Express Dean Street and the Barbican Centre.

Joe also has a keen interest in traditional jazz music, he plays clarinet (and saxophones) with the Windy City Weatherbirds, who regularly perform in jazz clubs around the UK, as well as performing with other early jazz bands in London, including at the Jamboree in Kings Cross, sharing the stage alongside legendary trumpeter Enrico Tomasso. He also studies this music under world-renowned clarinet/saxophone virtuoso, Ewan Bleach.

Joe also leads many of his own bands, to celebrate the music of his heroes as well as perform his own original music. This includes fellow exciting up and coming musicians he has met through his studies at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance as well as musicians he has met in the London Jazz Scene.
